The SC Technical College System
The area’s extensive technical college system is ranked as one of the nation’s best. The state’s technical college training program—readySC--will design and implement training for new and expanding industries, at little or no cost.
The readySC program is the result of legislation proposed and passed in 1961 and since that time, 266,878 people have been trained for new jobs in 2,016 companies.
The training is typically short-term and is provided prior to the company’s opening day or expansion, assuring a trained work force is prepared when the facility opens. The program is highly regarded for its unique customization and its flexibility—for every major industry locating to the state. Customized curricula range from injection molding to biotechnology.
The Technical College System is currently involved with more than 169 companies designing and/or implementing specific training programs -- 57 percent are new companies and 43 percent are existing companies that are expanding their business. In the last year, more than 8,500 people went through training at the Center for Accelerated Technology Training.
In Pickens County, Tri-County Technical College provides readySC training services at their Easley Campus, Pendleton Campus, or on-site at your facility.
